Our Mission
Here at Solar Knights Racing, we design and manufacture fully solar-powered vehicles to race in competition nationwide. We cultivate an environment for talented students at the University of Central Florida to develop their talents in engineering, leadership, business, and teamwork through multidisciplinary collaboration.
History
The organization was founded on January 19, 2025 with the goal of creating a space for students to explore renewable energy solutions in transportation. What was originally a team of only a few STEM students has since blossomed into a continuously growing community of students across engineering, business, computer science, and more who dedicate multiple hours a day to making our goals possible. We hope that this strong start will pave the way for better awareness of the possibilities in sustainable energy and provide all current and future members with experience that will help prepare them for their post-academic careers.
Accomplishments
In the short time that Solar Knights Racing has been operational, we have exceeded our own expectations and made notable strides in development: We have fostered professional partnerships to provide state-of-the-art shop space and a well-equipped trailer for our members, obtained a pivotal sponsorship from the UCF Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, cultivated a strong presence on social media platforms to interact with our community and recruit new members, and as of September 28, 2025, we became a 501(c)3 federal nonprofit!
